Manufacturing/Packaging Purchasing Manager
 
Hollandia Produce is seeking a Manufacturing/Packaging Purchasing Manager. Located in Carpinteria, California, just south of Santa Barbara, Hollandia Produce offers excellent employee benefits and promotes a friendly work environment.  The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in database and various software systems (including MS Office 2007), have a mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills, and be able to work independently and collaboratively performing multiple-level projects in conjunction with their daily activities.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Purchasing and negotiating goods and services, such as contract services, materials, equipment, supplies and packaging
  • Evaluating vendor quotes to determine most desirable suppliers, ensuring best quality and pricing, timely delivery and accurate orders
  • Examining catalogs, commerce publications and directories in order to find the right suppliers
  • Performing or contracting repairs in existing equipment
  • Managing a budget
 
Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years work experience in the purchase of specialized process equipment and technical services
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field
  • May substitute equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Practical knowledge of electrical and mechanical parts and equipment
  • Practical knowledge of MS Office 2007 applications
  • Typing speed of 40-45 wpm
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Solid negotiating and organizational skills
