Specific Work Duties/Essential Functions:  
The Customer Service Planner/Buyer has overall responsibility for coordinating material flow and work order management in support of Customer Service, service station(s) and MSSI objectives.  Utilize JDE/SAP and MRP in the planning, monitoring, and launching of Customer Service work orders and outside process orders in support of operations’ objectives, on time customer order fulfillment, and various materials’ objectives like inventory optimization and stock days.  Release and maintenance of work orders to the shop floor in support of customer demand, forecasted items, etc.  Evaluate and respond to all MRP messages generated by the ERP system based on released drawings and P/N product structures.  Enter bills of materials (BOMs) into the ERP system based on released drawings and P/N product structures.  Monitor and clean up aged work orders issued to the shop floor in support of WIP audits and shop floor practice.  Support major stakeholders such as contracts, program managers, production managers and manufacturing engineering.  Attend and participate in communication and problem solving meetings as a materials function representative.  Help in expediting late, problem or replacement components and sub-assemblies in support of customer schedules.  Assist in root cause analysis and troubleshooting of process and supplier issues that impact delivery or quality.  Support Customer Service in meeting contractual, AOG and work stoppage customer requirements.  Perform other related duties as assigned.

Academic Requirements: 
Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  
APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM certifications preferred.

Specific Skills and/or Experience Requirements:   
Ten plus years experience in an aerospace/manufacturing environment as a Planner with four or more years as a Senior Planner.  Must have an in-depth knowledge of MRP logic and standard planning/production workflow.  Should be familiar with the overall APICS Body of Knowledge (BOK) as it pertains to planning/procurement.  Must have good written and verbal communication skills and be able to effectively communicate with all functional areas.  Must have basic proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and email communication software tools – Microsoft Office products desirable.  Should have a basic understanding of root cause analysis (RCA) and be able to participate in the process.  Must be able to understand and interpret the basics behind engineering drawings and BOM structures.  Needs to have the ability to be constrained in other planner/buyer areas for cross-functional support purposes.  Must have a general understanding of the basic ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality system structure and purpose.  Should have the ability to participate in and understand continuous improvement and lean initiatives/efforts.  Computer skills and the ability to use a desktop keyboard.  Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.  Must possess good analytical skills utilizing spreadsheets.  Must possess good organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure with deadlines.

Essential Physical/Mental Abilities Required: 
Normal vision or correction to 20/20 including color vision.  Minimal lifting required; however, there will be an occasional lifting of parts/assemblies to evaluate.  Conform to company safety policies and procedures.
