The Sr Associate Procurement position assists Category Managers with sourcing related activities to support capital project execution. Support will be focused in the A/E, Construction Management, Manufacturing Equipment, and MRO/Spare parts categories.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sourcing and Procurement 
  • Supply base analysis: monitor, analyze and report spend, trends, forecasts and supply market analysis base data; 
  • Requirements definition: identify and define specific stakeholder requirements; 
  • Tendering: define evaluation/selection criteria, develop and executive RFI and RFP processes; 
  • Supplier selection: evaluate and negotiate proposals, ensure and validate selection of the best supplier(s) with stakeholders; 
  • Supplier service levels: negotiate service level agreements that specify performance dimensions, targets, monitoring and consequences of non-compliance 
  • Supplier contracting: complete and implement the contract in accordance with legal standards and procurement policies and guidelines; 
  • Infrastructure development: support / leads development of optimized procurement processes and systems for category
 

Education and experience

  • 5+ year’s sourcing and procurement experience. 
  • Capital project and/or MRO sourcing experience in the Pharmaceuticals / Biotech industry or other relevant industries strongly desired.
  • BA/BS or the equivalent combination of education 
  • ISM C.P.M or similar 

Required Skills
    • Capital Sourcing and procurement knowledge: sourcing process, category management and analysis, supplier management and development, pricing theory and policy, negotiation, supply chain 
    • Excellent organizational, program management, communication (written and verbal) and self-directed skills 
    • Excellent analytical and research skills 
    • Experience with e-sourcing applications (Ariba preferred) 
    • Knowledge of category management practices and principles 
    • Supplier / industry analysis experience 
    • Strong computer literacy 
    • Strong interpersonal skills and client focus

  • Benefits tracking: develop, maintain and report KPIs that clearly reflect the achievement of objectives in each business area

Job will be based in Westlake Village office, Mon-Fri

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for overall Data Management, analyzing performance, identifying problems and developing recommendation that support Global Logistics Management.
  • With strong Excel and Access capabilities, the candidate will provide heavy critical and analytical thinking and proactive support (that include data research from different groups and sources) in Global Transportation, Export/Import, Distribution/Warehousing and other Global Logistics activities. 
  • Will work closely with Plants, US Operations, Customer Ops, Carriers, Quality, and Planning in relations to data/information gathering/sharing to come up with more streamlined processes/improvement initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide a support/administrative function in overall Global Logistics Projects management 
  • Perform Heavy Data Management activities through a combination of data mining, data modeling, data analysis, cost/benefit analysis, process mapping, and/or problem analysis to support major GL initiatives; ie RFI/RFI, Freight Budgeting, KPI, Dashboard, etc, while executing day-to-day tasks 
  • Develop business tools and solutions based on the knowledge, products or Technology to identify global logistics process improvement opportunities through strategic/critical thinking and analysis 
  • Supporting partner relationship management process monthly basis - review and evaluation process (Carriers and Distribution Centers) which include utilizing Quantitative and Qualitative skills to identify trend and opportunity to improve 
  • Create, Manage system set-ups and database for Global Logistics (incl. Working with different groups) to have clean Order Mgt Process; routing guide, volume optimization, Logistics Spend, Claims, SCAR, Duty Drawback, etc) 
  • Coordinate the management of document/data filing for all GL related contracts, SOP, Certificates, etc. 
  • Understand Processes and Develop procedures for overall Logistics activities (document/freight preparation, packaging and warehouse optimization) and provide necessary assistance to give guidance to Operational Team 
  • Working with Plants and Customer Ops in relations to Overall potential Logistics Cost Saving Initiatives/Opportunities; ie volume consolidation, etc. 
  • Assist Operation team with SOP review to ensure all required aspects relayed to the FF to get the right solutions 
  • Understands and Complies with SOPs, GMPs, GDPs, safety Rules/Regulations, ExIm Compliances and departmental procedures 
  • With Strong understanding of Rates/Tariff, the candidate will work with Mgt and Finance to provide Logistics Cost Base analytical data for all the product lines 
  • Support Global Logistics Share Point site Management 
 

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4-year College Degree preferably in Supply Chain, Logistics, Management, Projects. Master Degree is preferred. 
  • 5-year experience in the same roles within Transportation, Manufacturing, Warehousing or Distribution Center (preferably in the strategic roles) 
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, especially in the logistics, finance and customer satisfaction areas 
  • Excellent Verbal and written Communication skills, including a thorough understanding how to interpret customers (internal/external) business needs 
  • Strong experience and knowledge in using Microsoft suite-e.g. PowerPoint, Project and Word. Advanced Skills in Excel, MiniTab, Access, Visio-Process Mapping Skills. 
  • Ability to facilitate meetings with different groups and management levels 
  • While having strong background in Logistics, must have experience with using different type of ERP systems (Cash to Order) in order to assist with Data Mining process. Experience in Value Stream Mapping is preferred. 
  • Some Experience with Freight Pay, Contract Mgt database analysis 
  • Self Starter, Strong Interpersonal Skills, problem solving, teamwork ethic and customer support focus, Detailed and results oriented 
  • Ability to work well under pressure (different tasks at the same time) and in operational environment, including thinking outside the normal day-to-day process 
  • Strong Initiative to challenge the impossible and embrace different opinions to consistently present the business case or opportunities
