Job Description

Cordoba Music Group is a leading manufacturer and distributor of acoustic and electric guitars, ukuleles, basses and musical instrument accessories. Some of CMG’s brands include Cordoba Guitars®, Guild Guitars®, DeArmond® and HumiCase®, which are internationally distributed and played by a wide range of musicians. Cordoba is the largest supplier of nylon string guitars and ukuleles in U.S. retail chains, online retailers, and independent dealers across the USA. Guild is an iconic brand of acoustic and electric instruments with roots going back to the early 50’s. Other CMG brands include Savarez®, and Aquila®, of which CMG is the largest importer and U.S. distributor. The company’s corporate headquarters are located in Santa Monica, CA, and distribution and manufacturing facility is in Oxnard, CA.

General Manager is responsible for leadership and direction of the distribution center teams and staff to accomplish business goals, and supervise distribution center operations to maximize productivity, achieve excellent customer service, a high standard of execution and promote a positive work environment.

Primary responsibilities
• Responsible for day-to-day operations of the Distribution Center, including timely order fulfillment, shipping, receiving and inventory control, including counts and analysis of variances
• Supervises the Shipping and Inventory Managers, and their team members
• Collaborates with Quality Inspection team to ensure inventory is flowing efficiently and in properly locations
• Implements operational plans to achieve designated objectives, established performance goals, and quality standards
• Recommends and implements solutions by involving staff in problem solving to obtain the best results
• Takes a proactive approach to analyzing deficiencies and developing plans to correct
• Supports and maintains a clean, safe working environment for all employees
• Prioritizes, assigns and reviews work to maintain efficiency and meet productivity, volume, quality and service goals
• Support and model a commitment to customer service in the performance of all job duties
• Continually seeks process / procedure improvements and efficiencies and staff development to promote productivity and uphold excellent performance standards
• Manages vendor account pricing and relationships (logistics, supplies, services)
• Ensure compliance with Cal-OSHA standards and maintain adherence and upkeep of site Injury Illness and Prevention Plan

Job Requirements and Preferred Skills
• Minimum 5 years of demonstrated leadership/supervisory experience preferably in a high volume distribution center environment
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Meticulous attention to detail and organizational skills
• Forklift Certified, sit down and standing reach truck
• Experience with ERP, WMS, FedEx Ship Manager & UPS Worldship
• Passion for guitar or music is a plus!
