Job Summary
Our Supply Chain Manager role within ATK Space Systems/ Spacecraft Division reports to the Vice President / General Manager Space Structures on a solid line, with a dotted line to the Division Director of SCM, and will focus on leading and integrating all supply chain management functions, including master scheduling, production control, purchasing, shipping, receiving, inventory, property management, and material planning functions in the Corona, CA office.
This position will be responsible for the procurement of production materials; Responsible for developing and maintaining competitive sources for on-time delivery of materials, supplies and services for the Corona location and for coordinating source selection decisions with other company activities as required. Solves problems to improve the flow of materials and parts to ensure delivery schedules are met. Assures that the master scheduling function and systems accurately integrate all contracted work while maximizing facility and equipment capacities, then flows these requirements to each of the applicable work areas in the value stream.
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
- - Develop and implement systems / methodologies that ensure the entire
supply chain is linked and coordinated in support of operating objectives.
- Works cooperatively with production leadership to determine the optimum
locations of inventories in the facility to ensure a smooth, uncluttered and
value added continuous flow of production activities.
- Responsible for maintaining inventory levels consistent with production
requirements and cash flow goals of the company.
- Negotiates terms and conditions with suppliers in the most economical and
efficient manner. Is consistent with technical requirements, delivery schedules,
and sound procurement principles.
- Obtains favorable payment terms.
- Analyzes and communicates market trends to stakeholders.
- Develops and maintains competitive sources for materials, supplies and
services.
- Builds and implements the value-added purchasing strategies including on-time
delivery and supplier quality/returns.
- Collaborates with the Inventory department and warehouse personnel to
determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
- Understands product production flow and manufacturing lead times.
- Supervises, leads and evaluates job performance of Purchasing, Production
Control, Material Control department personnel.
- Define, collect, analyze and report on SCM metrics such as Cost Savings, On
Time Deliveries, Supplier Ratings, and Supplier Feedback.
- Lead with other members of the Supply Chain group to identify, analyze and
propose changes to standard operating procedures as needed.
- Work cooperatively with production and sales to understand and establish
inventory plans with suppliers to support forecasted demand and production
rates.
- Develop modeling methodologies to objectively collect information that assists
in decisions to make or buy products.
- Develop methodologies and systems to objectively collect information on
supplier performance that assists in making supplier selection decisions.|
- Develop systems to objectively collect data on the performance of each
supplier providing material, parts and assemblies.
- Organize data for upper management to highlight opportunities for improving
supply strategies in alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Drive Division level SCM reporting, analysis, planning, and initiatives
including supplier on time delivery, quality, and cost reduction.
Basic Qualifications
- - BA/BS Business, supply chain management, logistics, or technical
discipline. 8 - 10 years as a SCM Leader with experience managing and leading a
SCM organization.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience. Green Belt certification
preferred.
- Aerospace and Defense business experience preferred
- Must have the ability to clearly convey information orally and in writing and
have strong persuasive skills.
- Must exhibit a high level of motivation, attention to detail, and an energetic
approach to job duties and requirements.
- Must be technically knowledgeable and capable of grasping detailed concepts.
- Must be a self-starter with both excellent leadership and hands-on skills
